This position reports to the COO. The Facilities Engineer will design, optimize, review and implement changes to the physical plants of Derecktor's shipyard facilities and marina. This individual will work closely with local management teams to identify equipment and process needs to meet ongoing and growth of each yard's business requirements, including planning and oversight of plant re-configuration and the augmentation of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and facilities.This position can be located at any of the 4 company locations on the EastCoast.

Responsibilities

-Review and refine operational procedures to maximize efficiency and safety

-Analyze and estimate material and labor costs of operational processes

-Design and develop plans to optimize land use to enhance operational efficiency

-Develop concepts, designs, timetables, deliverables and cost analyses

-Confer with management on procedures and contracts

-Design and implement control systems and procedures

-Work with local authorities in securing approvals

-Coordinate and manage external and internal resources foreach project undertaken

-Manage the budget and contracts for each project and report any variances

-Report regularly on the status of each project to upper management

Requirements

-BS in Facilities Engineering Technology (FET) or BS in civil, mechanical or structural engineering

-Minimum 5 years relevant experience in managing maritime facilities

-Knowledge of local building codes and environmental constraints and ability to work with government authorities and regulators

-Site development, design and permitting experience

-Contract and Vendor management experience

-Budget management experience

-Mastery of the knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of FET

-Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including ability to develop and maintain accurate records and reporting

-Proficiency with MS Office suite and AutoCAD or equivalent

-Ability to work within a team while communicating effectively with subordinate personnel

-Travel to job sites (Mamaroneck, NY; Georgetown, ME; Dania, FL and Ft. Pierce, Fl)

-Extended stays at job sites may be required.
