Absolutely not, I suggest you ask customs officers as you enter Australia and if your already in Aussie visit a customs and immigration office. That way you'll get a straight answer and a flight home at the same time. What kind of question is this? If you had a proper visa and knew how difficult it is to get a working visa you'd not be asking such a question.

I am guessing you also want to avoid paying Australian state and federal tax while your there. Then when you've had an accident you want Medicare and disability cover.
