Hi there,

I will be flying out to join a boat In Victoria, British Columbia which is there for a week or so to move on to Alaska. I hold an SA passport and was wondering if boat papers and my Discharge book is enough to get me in with out having to go get a full on visa.

any ideas/advise/knowledge would be great!

Thanks

All SA need a visa to enter into Canada.

Check the internet for this! As well your Capt. or Purser onboard should know this info.

It takes up to 30 buss. days to obtain this visa aswell!

Even if you are only joining the yacht and then leaving you still need the visa to enter into Canada. If you do not have the visa you will be denied boarding your flight.

Aswell boat papers and Discharge book do not hold any ground when it comes to Visa's!

Each country has rules and regulations that you must follow and just because you work on a yacht this does not mean it does not apply to you!
