BEFORE: Alan and Doug prior to the weigh-in
In order to get in shape and get healthy, Dockwalk’s very own Douglas Hunter and Pioneer Linens’ Alan Murphy have chosen to go head-to-head in a battle of the heavyweights. For six weeks they will sweat it out in hopes of becoming Dockwalk’s Biggest Loser. The two will weigh in to determine the winner the night of the Dockwalk and Pioneer Linens Rock Star party (March 25) at the Palm Beach show.

The fun part for Dockwalk.com members: you can guess their combined total weight lost (in pounds) and win a scrumptious prize from Pioneer Linens, supplier of luxury linens to the superyacht industry.
Alan and Doug faced some "Publix" humiliation as they stripped down to their skivvies (and for you Scottish gentlemen like Douglas, you know what that means) in Fort Lauderdale's Publix Supermarket for their first weigh-in on Friday, February 20, 2009. (We didn't get into trouble with the manager until the after weights were recorded.)

Doug: 245 lbs Alan: 261 lbs
You have until noon on Wednesday, March 25, to post your guesses. Simply reply to this forum post and punch in your guess for their combined total weight loss in pounds (2.2 pounds=1 kilo). Be sure you’re not anonymous so that we can give the prize to the correct winner. If more than one person guesses the same weight, we will draw names. Good luck to Alan and Doug.

I don't know these guys and have no idea how much they'll lose BUT my hat is off to them to have the guts to have their picture taken and get weighed! Good sports and if you both lose some of that extra cargo you'll both be winners!

On Wednesday, March 25 Douglas Hunter and Alan Murphy faced off, belly to belly, for their final weight in. Alan came in at 253 pounds, leaving him 9 pounds less than when he began. Doug came in at 241 pounds, he dropped 4lbs. Their totaly weight loss was 13 pounds. We did have one close call for a winner. Unfortunately, the poster was anonymous and so we have no idea who he or she is. But their guess of -14 pounds for the pair was practically right on the money! Better luck next time!

I am trying to choose a STCW training location in Fort Lauderdale and would like to know if there are major differences between the schools that I should take into consideration. I am between ICT and MTP right now, but if there are others that you would recommend I am all ears.
Cheers!
