After spending about the last five months out of headlines (with the exception of when Kylie Jenner charted the vessel for her birthday in August), the 91.5-meter M/Y Tranquility
) has once again been listed for sale with an asking price of $200 million by Camper & Nicholsons, according to Boat International
This comes after the yacht was last sold in May
to Genting Malaysia for $126 million. The vessel was seized in February 2018 after her owner was charged with eight counts of laundering money, which was used to purchase the vessel. The charges accused Jho Low of laundering $450 million in stolen funds, along with playing a key role in theft of at least $4.5 billion from a Malaysian government investment fund, 1 Malaysia Development Berhad.
There was much back and forth in court over whether the seizure was legal and who or what entity actually owned the vessel. When the registered owner failed to appear in court to claim the vessel, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur declared that she belonged to the Malaysian government with 1MDB as the beneficiary owner in October 2018. She went up for auction for the first time
at the end of October.
