Located on the northwest coast of England near the historic city of Lancaster and within the beautiful surroundings of Morecambe Bay, Glasson Dock is a useful stopping-off point for yachts on their way from England's south coast to Scotland or vice versa. Within easy reach of the Isle of Man and Ireland, it makes an excellent base for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The basin, which forms the beginning of Lancaster Canal, is entered via a lock from the River Lune. Although in a rural setting, Glasson Basin is still within easy reach of many pubs and restaurants.

Welcome to Superports!

With data on more than 600 Superyacht marinas, the Dockwalk team is pleased to present its online Superports directory.

Previously only available in print, the Superports directory contains information including contact details, facilities at the berth and local services. It also provides vital logistical information such as lat/long co-ordinates, berth numbers and sizes, prices and distances to local airports.

What's more, the whole thing works with Google mapping. Select a region or enter a location, rollover an anchor and see the name, location and photo of the marina. Click on it to load all the info on your chosen marina.

When you've chosen a marina, you'll notice a list of local services classifications in the right hand column. Right now it's fairly empty. That's where you come in.

We're building the site around our users, and we want to publish the things that are most useful to you. As you travel around the world, you can recommend the best bars, friendliest agents, most efficient electricians and the quickest taxis - to name but a few. And as the directory builds up, you can look up services that have been recommended by other Captains and Crew.

So if you've had a great night out, found the best surf shop or been impressed with an emergency repair, click on the Recommend A Local Service link and share it with crew around the world.
