The United Kingdom Administrations will now issue Flag State Endorsements (FSEs) for Maltese Yacht Certificates of Competence (CoCs), as confirmed by the Professional Yachting Association (PYA).

According to a statement by the MCA, the United Kingdom Administrations will issue FSEs for the following CoCs: Officer of the Watch (Yachts) <3,000GT (STCW II/1), Master of Yachts <3,000GT (STCW II/2), and Master of Yachts <500GT (STCW II/2), provided the training and assessment are completed at Maritime MT in Birzebbugia or XONE Superyacht in Pieta, Malta.

Additionally, candidates applying for an FSE to Red Ensign members must submit a course completion certificate from one of these approved centers. The Cayman Islands Ship Registry has also agreed to accept these specific Maltese CoCs, with further details forthcoming in a new STCW CISN update.
