Chocolate and yachting don’t often go together. But Sous Chef Hannah Rose is changing that with some new classes, which are launching in April. During this three-day intensive course, you will learn to be a yacht chef chocolatier.
The Hannah Rose Yacht Chef Chocolatier Course has announced the first two set of classes from April 8-10 and April 11-13 in collaboration with OceanWave Monaco. The course is designed to help yacht chefs execute chocolatier work aboard superyachts. Not only will you get hands-on learning, but Chef Hannah will help you develop your own recipes. You’ll get a starter kit to apply your new expertise aboard, including polycarbonate molds, chocolate scrapers, Thermopro probe, and a comprehensive recipe book.
“I am very much knuckling down on showing people that I’ve done it for over four years and I’ve managed to take chocolates to a whole new level on board a yacht whilst under pressure,” Chef Hannah says. The accomplished chef has worked in the industry since 13 years old, working her way into Michelin-starred restaurants.
OceanWave Monaco is a maritime training academy with bespoke yacht crew training courses. All their trainers have worked in yachting, which is why they can offer comprehensive understanding of the industry and what it’s like to work aboard.
“Hannah joined us for the Ship’s Cook Certificate Assessment at OceanWave Monaco and we were immediately struck by how exceptional she was,” says OceanWave Monaco CEO Mark Cox, praising her as a chef. “I can honestly say she is one of the most professional, organized, and motivated chefs we have ever had on the course. Once we saw the incredible chocolate work she was doing, we knew we wanted to be part of it.”
Due to an already positive response, more classes are coming soon. “We are currently in the process of aligning calendars and schedules and will be announcing more courses in the coming months,” he says. “Watch this space!”
