The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), owner and operator of the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS), and Informa Markets, co-owner and producer of the Miami Yacht Show (MYS) and Superyacht Miami, announced a new show partnership on January 13. They will hold the first joint production, which will be under the Miami International Boat Show name, from Wednesday, February 16 to Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Under the agreement, Informa will take on the management of the show with direction and guidance from NMMA, which will maintain ownership of MIBS. Informa will maintain its co-ownership of MYS and Superyacht Miami with the International Yacht Brokers Association. “The partnership is the result of long-standing conversations between the two organizations on how best to serve the industry and cultivate a best-in-class boat show experience,” the press release says.
The on-land portion will be held at the newly reimagined Miami Beach Convention Center, while the in-water part will be at Sea Isle Marina, One Herald Plaza, and Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island. New elements to enrich the experience for attendees will include a live concert series, an expanded educational offering, and a digital component. In collaboration with the City of Miami and Miami Beach, a comprehensive traffic management plan will be developed to ensure smooth traffic flow for visitors and the surrounding areas, and both show locations will have a variety of transportation options for guests, such as water taxis and public transit modes.
This new agreement also includes a partnership of their other Central Florida events — NMMA’s Tampa Boat Show, Informa’s St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show, and Informa’s the Suncoast Boat Show.
