Crewmember Breffni O’Connor Dies in Italy

Breffni O’Connor, reportedly a crewmember on board M/Y Iman, is believed to have slipped into the water in Ancona after returning to the yacht in the early hours of November 23, the Irish Times reports. Fellow crewmembers who returned to the vessel after O’Connor found her bag on the dock.

The crew were unable to find her in the water, and the Coast Guard and firefighter divers searched the area and found her body a short distance from the vessel, local media Corriere Adriatico reports.

While the details are still being investigated, local police are treating the death as an accident with no suspicious circumstances and investigators are looking into video surveillance in the port area to piece together what happened. It is reported that the yacht had travelled from Venice to Ancona for repairs.
