Indonesia is set to unveil its first international-standard full-service marina, poised to elevate its status in global maritime tourism. PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) and Pelindo have officially signed a contract to begin construction of the facility, which will accommodate 180 yachts, including 50 superyachts up to 90 meters long.

Strategically located within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) and just 15 minutes from the airport, the new marina will feature world-class amenities, including a yacht service area with a 200-ton travel lift and high-quality fuelling station. The marina is expected to draw both international and domestic yacht owners.

Ulf Backlund, President Director of MDI, stated, “Indonesia’s unique location, outside typhoon paths, paired with its vast archipelago and rich culture, makes it an ideal yachting paradise.”

Slated to welcome its first yachts by July 2025, the marina is being developed in collaboration with globally recognized partners, including SF Marina and Plus Marine. The project aims to boost local economies, create jobs, and strengthen Indonesia’s position in the maritime industry. Full capacity is expected by mid-2026, with temporary moorings for smaller yachts already available.
