The Monaco Yacht Show is a bustling four-day affair. For crew, it’s a hectic time — which is why the show created the Captains & Crew Lounge as a refuge for crew to escape to during the show.
The participating captains and crew from yachts in the show and in Monaco Bay were fortunate to enjoy a wide range of daily activities and entertainment at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show Captains & Crew Lounge, which took place from September 26–29, 2018.
In its fifth year, the C&C Lounge welcomed captains and crew with top service and entertainment options and Dockwalk was proud to once again partner with the Lounge as the exclusive yachting publication.
Attendance was high for all four days as captains and crew stopped by to enjoy the offerings, which included complimentary breakfast and lunch daily and refreshments all day, in addition to access to the area upstairs, which provided comfortable seating for relaxation, free Wi-Fi, and games to relax away from the busy show. This year, options also included a beauty salon that offered a nail bar, brow bar, Women’s Express Make-Up, plus a Men’s Express Haircut. Crew were also able to get a relaxing massage in the Lounge, courtesy of Daniele de Winter, and for those who might have looked to stretch their legs, sponsor Stromer also provided e-bike test rides for those crew looking to try out their latest gear.
The Lounge also offered one-on-one career counseling sessions for three days, courtesy of crew placement agent Sally Finbow Pawelek, plus a “tasty experience” daily where crew could indulge in some delicious treats and learn a few culinary skills. Aperitivos were available Thursday evening from Maison del Gusto and Cipriani, while the wine enthusiasts were treated to a wine tasting on Friday. The annual Captain & Crew Party took place Friday on the Lounge terrace, which drew in large crowds to enjoy a few drinks and snacks, dance to DJ Envy Soul, and try their luck in a prize drawing. The luckiest guests took home beauty boxes from Daniele de Winter, a GoPro from Dockwalk, a gourmet goodies box from Maison del Gusto, a driving experience from Ports Toulon Provence, and an inflatable paddleboard from FunAir.
MYS and its partners are already looking to improve the C&C Lounge’s top services and entertainment options for 2019. Send your comments on this year’s edition to: info@monacoyachtshow.mc or leave them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/MYSCaptainsandCrewLounge
