A fire broke out at a Long Island marina in New York onTuesday night, August 16, damaging several boats.
According to reports, firefighters received a call at 7:12p.m. regarding a fire at Patchogue Shores Marina, also known as Shores YachtBasin. The fire spread to eight boats, reportedly rekindling on a boat at 2:36a.m. on Wednesday, causing the firefighters to return to the scene three times.High winds reportedly contributed to spreading the fire.
A local news source reports that four firefighters weretreated for minor injuries at the scene while another one was brieflyhospitalized.
Although the cause of the incident is being investigated,speculation says that it started on a boat.
