In the afternoon of July 26, the 33-meter M/Y Ion Fedra ran aground near Mykonos, Greece. After the incident, the vessel’s hull began taking on water and started listing forward. No pollution was detected in the area.
Local media Proto Thema reports that the yacht was towed by coast guard vessels and the fire department assisted with pumping water from the vessel, preventing more water from flooding in and a potential sinking.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 27, Ion Fedra was anchored safely in the Gulf of Ornos off Mykonos.
